Case studies
The use of less power from the grid or the reduction of the overall energy consumption can be achieved with battery and/or supercapacitor powered DC/DC converter-based solutions.
AGVs & shuttles (supercapacitor powered)
Bidirectional DC/DC converters applied to shuttles allow energy consumption from supercapacitors and charge from the grid with only one component. Electrified monorails become unnecessary in warehouses.
Logistics – AGVs (battery powered)
Reduction in size, cost and weight in battery powered industrial vehicles through DC/DC converters. DC motors are removed in favour of AC more standard and smaller solutions.
A hybrid powered solution for cranes achieve reductions in fuel consumption, size of generator and braking resistor bank. Energy stored is used by a DC/DC converter to counterweight the power requirements and save the braking energy.
